• The Mineral City Car Show returns on Saturday, September 5th from 11AM to 2PM at the corner of State Route 212 and New Cumberland Road in Mineral City. The annual event features more than 400 race cars, antique and classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and ATVs. Registration is open from 9AM to 11AM with an $8 entry fee. The show will award 30 trophies.

• The NPACT Organization will host its Multicultural Festival on Saturday, September 5th, from 11AM to 5PM in downtown New Philadelphia. The festivities will take place outside Fresh the Market, Alley Cats Marketplace, and Lacey’s Performing Arts Dance Center. The festival will feature Polynesian dancers performing traditional hula, a live German band, and lively Zydeco music from Mo Mojo. • A benefit for Mark Enos will be held on Sunday, September 6th at the Uhrichsville Eagles. Doors open at 10AM and you can sign up for the pool tournament at 11AM. The calcutta starts at 12PM and the pool tournament will immediately follow that. The day will also include a bake sale, Chinese auction, and a chicken dinner, which includes two sides for $10. Carryout is available. All proceeds and donations will go directly toward supporting Mark and his family.

• The City of Dover will host its End of Summer Celebration on Sunday, September 6th, at Dover City Park. The day features live music, food vendors, a car and motorcycle show, free train rides for kids from 4PM to 7PM, and free swimming at the Dover City Pool. Other activities include a home run derby at the Dover High School baseball field and a vintage baseball game. There will also be a fireworks display to end the evening.

• The Tuscarawas County Public Library will host a special evening storytime celebrating women in sports at the Sugarcreek Branch on Tuesday, September 8th at 5:30PM. The program will share stories about American women in sports, both past and present, and will be followed by lawn games in the backyard. This program is part of TCPL’s America 250 series and will feature stories about female athletes, including Ragersville’s own Alta Weiss, who was a semiprofessional female baseball. • Ohio’s Hospice is looking for volunteers to help support patients and families throughout the community. Volunteer opportunities include friendly visits and companionship, caregiver respite, veteran-to-veteran visits, office support, transportation assistance, bereavement support, fundraising, and more. Free volunteer training begins Wednesday, September 9th from 2PM to 4:30PM at the New Philadelphia location on Commercial Avenue Southwest. A second training session will be held Monday, September 14th from 6PM to 8:30PM at the Wooster location on Akron Road. • Schoenbrunn Village will host its Fall Lantern Tours on the evenings of Friday, September 11th and Saturday, September 12th. Visitors can follow a path of luminaries through the historic village and experience what life was like in this 18th-century Moravian community on the eve of the American Revolution. This year’s special theme celebrates Ohio’s role over the past 250 years of American history, highlighting people, events, and stories that helped shape the state and nation. Apple cider and cookies will be available while supplies last. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for children ages 7 to 17, and free for children 6 and under, with free admission for Ohio History Connection members. • The Tuscarawas County Public Library will host a Photos at the Library program on Saturday, September 12th from 11AM to 1PM at the Main Library in New Philadelphia. The program will provide opportunities for families to receive free seasonal photos. Each 15-minute session will provide families with four fully edited digital photos and two physical polaroids to take home same-day. Registration is required. • The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Alumni Association and Geib Funeral Homes will host the Flash Dash 5K Run and half-mile Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, September 12th, at the Kent State Tuscarawas campus. Registration begins at 9AM, with the race starting at 10AM. Participants can run or walk individually, or bring their well-behaved dog to compete in the dog-friendly divisions. All dogs must be leashed, vaccinated, and tagged. Participants are asked to preregister by September 8th.

• Camp Tuscazoar will host a guided Historic Hike on Saturday, September 12th, from 12PM to 2:30PM. Visitors can choose between an easy 45-minute walking tour of Main Camp or a more advanced two-hour hike featuring Pioneer Point, a railway tunnel, historic railroad grade, and the Zoarville Station Bridge. The free event is open to families, hikers, scouts, history enthusiasts, and anyone interested in the area’s natural and cultural heritage. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, as the advanced hike includes uneven terrain and elevation changes. • The first annual Harvest Time Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be held Sunday, September 20th, from 1PM to 5PM at ProVia’s Walnut Creek facility. Registration is from 1PM to 3PM, with a $10 registration fee, and the first 50 registered participants will receive dash plaques. Awards will be presented to the top 20 vehicles, along with Best of Show, at 5PM. The event will feature JR’s BBQ food, music from Music Explosion, a 50/50 drawing and door prizes, and will take place rain or shine. All proceeds benefit Harvest Thrift Store Missions. • The Tuscarawas County Public Library will offer a “Sublimation 101” class on Thursday, September 24th, at 2PM at the Main Library in New Philadelphia. Participants will learn step-by-step how to use the sublimation printer and heat press in the library’s MakerSpace.
